There is a large menu of lesson options available at Lake Louise from a broad range of expert professional instructors. Except for Discover programs, lessons do not include lift tickets or rentals. Group lessons: The Club Ski program offers three day lessons, with the same instructor, at all three of Banff National Park's resorts; Mt. Norquay, The Lake Louise Ski Area and Sunshine Village. The three day cost is $285.

Private lessons: Up to five friends and family can join a private lesson, splitting the cost between you. A half day program (3 hours) is $379 and a full day program (6 hours) is $579.

The Sunshine Village Ski & Snowboard School (877-542-2633 ext. 3) also offers the following programs:

First-timer package: Discover Ski & Snowboard A full-day program with lesson, rentals and lift ticket is C$164.99 for adults and $144.99 for children ages 13 and older.

Special programs: Sunshine Village encourages the traditional Ski Week, a weeklong stay at the slopeside Sunshine Inn, by providing packages including classes with the same instructor. Groups can be divided by ability level or by family and include evening activities. Call for prices, which vary by season and size of room. Camps for women, adventure skiers and tackling Delirium Dive are available.
