Snowmobiling is big business in these parts, and rentals and guides are available in Rangeley. Rangeley has its own 150-mile trail system, and that connects to the ITS, which connects to New Hampshire or Canada and beyond. For rentals or guided tours, call River’s Edge Sports (864-5582), in Oquossoc. Rangeley maintains an ice skating rink behind the town office at 15 School St, and skate rentals are available from Rangeley Region Sport Shop (864-5615). Lakeside Theater (864-9955) screens films year round. Mojo’s (864-5558) frequently schedules inexpensive arts-and-crafts classes, many geared to children. Open studio time also is available. Downtown Rangeley has a handful of shops. The Alpine Shop carries a nice range of clothing as well as interesting household goods and some sporting equipment.
