Lessons

Lessons meet at the base area near the Centennial Express lift. Instruction is available in nearly 30 languages. Call the Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School at (800) 475-4543 or (970) 845-5300. Unless otherwise indicated, we list regular season prices; value season prices are lower.

Group lessons: A full-day group is $120. A great deal, available only during select times, is the 3-Peat Series: three consecutive adult lessons of any ability level for $250.

First-time series package: This great deal for ages 15 and up offers three consecutive full days of group lessons with lift tickets for $200 (an additional $50 with rentals).

First-time snowboarders also can take a Burton Learn-to-Ride clinic that uses special Burton snowboards, bindings and boots designed to reduce the difficulty of learning to ride. The goal is to get students linking toeside and heelside turns on the very first day and significantly reduce the number of falls. Only $250 for the three-day lift/lesson/rental package.

Private lessons: $425 for a half-day, $625 for a full day (for one to six people). Lessons include video analysis. Reservations are highly recommended.

Racing: Two NASTAR courses and a coin-op course are next to the Centennial run.
